QuesTec

New York and
Deer Park, NY and Fort
Lauderdale, FL (October 22, 1999)
-- Major League Baseball
and SportsLine USA, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLN) have
named QuesTec Imaging, Inc. (www.questec.com, NASD-BB: QSTI) as
exclusive provider of real-time
digital telemetry of
pitch-by-pitch action for
coverage of the 1999 World
Series® on Major League
Baseball's official Web site, (http://majorleaguebaseball.com). QuesTec provides
a unique enhancement to the
site's Baseball Live product, a
multimedia, real-time animated
pitch-by-pitch representation of
each game. QuesTec's eReplaysTM
technology sends information from
Questec's in-stadium system,
including the ball speed,
trajectory, location at the
plate, and movement in flight, to
the majorleaguebaseball.com Web
site, enabling fans to see each
pitch recreated graphically in
their browser. eReplays debuted
on majorleaguebaseball.com during
the 1999 All-Star Game.
"QuesTec's technology
significantly expands our
real-time online coverage of the
World Series, guaranteeing our
fans the most complete and
exciting baseball experience on
the Internet," said Alex
Kam, Major League Baseball's
Director of New Media.
"We are very excited to be
working with Major League
Baseball and SportsLine to
enhance their coverage of the
World Series on the Web. The
developments in technology and
entertainment as it pertains to
baseball are tremendous,"
stated QuesTec founder Edward
Plumacher. "Our ability to
complement Major League
Baseball's existing baseball
coverage on the Internet presents
fans with information never
before available, either on the
Web or by network television. We
believe that our efforts will
significantly enhance fans'
experience for this year's World
Series and for baseball in the
new millennium."
eReplays technology,
www.ereplays.com, provides a
continuous stream of detailed
information, derived through
QuesTec's proprietary tracking
technology, to web sites,
broadcasters, and in-stadium
display systems. eReplays brings
every pitch, serve, or other key
event, to viewers in the stadium,
at home, or at the office.
eReplays are the culmination of
the efforts of QuesTec and its
partner Atlantic Aerospace
Electronics Corporation (a Titan Company, NYSE: TTN) to
leverage the convergence of
broadcasting, telecommunications,
and computing technology to
produce cutting-edge enhancements
for sports events.
"A key factor in the design
of eReplays was minimizing the
demands placed on the fan,"
says Paul Baim, Atlantic
Aerospace's Director of Software
Engineering and a member of
QuesTec's Board of Directors.
"We designed eReplays to
work reliably over connections
too slow to support streaming
video or other high-bandwidth
approaches. eReplays technology
works great at speeds as low as
28.8, using standard browser
software. If the true baseball
fan is looking for a reason to
move the PC next to the TV, this
is it."
