QuesTec Announces
eReplays.com
Deer
Park, N.Y. Wednesday, October 13, 1999 - QuesTec
Imaging, Inc. (NASD-BB: QSTI) ,announces
eReplays.com. eReplays.com is a business-to-business
technology content enabler that will
revolutionize the way leagues, teams, internet
and interactive television providers choose to
entertain, inform and educate their sports fans.
eReplays.com captures, transmits and reconstructs
live action during sporting events and offers
comprehensive, unique and informative content
that complements existing information offerings
as well as live network television coverage.
eReplaysTM are created through
proprietary video- and computer-based tracking
systems designed, developed and provided by
QuesTec and its partners. These systems instantly
analyze the live game and convert that action
into real-time filtered and encrypted digital
streams. This digital information is then
delivered to the sports information provider over
the Internet by QuesTec's eSportsTM technology. The digital
information is used for the re-creation of live
game action on home computers and interactive
television set-top boxes. eReplays are available
and displayed via the Internet seconds after live
play. eSports technology often allows eReplays to
arrive on home computers as quickly as the live
televised production appears on viewers'
televisions. eSports-enabled applications do not
require high bandwidth connections, unlike many
other multi-media applications. A simple analog
dial-up connection is all that is necessary for
this ultimate real-time viewing experience during
a live event.
"eReplays.com
is the culmination of our dedicated efforts to
develop and deploy eSports-enabled content for
sports information providers. We have designed
and created real-time solutions for the
convergence of digital media and sports coverage.
eReplays allows our clients to leap beyond the
convention of merely reporting, and will enable
them to provide their consumers with a unique,
and informative experience", stated Chris
Malone, New Media Manager, QuesTec.
eReplays.coms
first commercial application is eBaseballTM. eBaseball consists of
real-time captured, quantified and re-created
professional baseball content. This digital
real-time information contains the speed of the
pitch, the complete trajectory of the ball in
flight, plate location, quantified ball movement,
break information and type of pitch. QuesTec
provided this eSports-enabled real-time digital
service during the 1999 All Star Game from
Bostons Fenway Park. eBaseballs
digital stream was actively displayed on both the
cbs.sportsline.com and majorleaguebaseball.com
web sites throughout the game.
"The creation
and enablement of the distribution of our sports
content over the Internet is a milestone for
QuesTec", stated Edward Plumacher, founder,
QuesTec. "Unlike our virtual replays which
appear as limited features during televised
sporting events, eReplays are designed to
capture, quantify and transmit continuous
real-time digital streams. eReplays.com gives our
business-to-business clients the ability to
provide displaced fans quality content and also
allows them to create a real-time interactive
environment that complements live network
television coverage."
QuesTec provides
real-time motion capture, replay and analysis
products for sports entertainment, display media,
business and industry. The company develops
real-time virtual replays and eSports technology
for mainstream professional sports and
entertainment. QuesTec's technology offers unique
content and visualization for the convergence of
today's emerging digital media.
